**Job Summary:**

As a key member of the MetroHealth team, the Sous Chef-Food Services OBC will be responsible for providing exceptional service and efficient food production operations in one or more areas, including specialty functions, trayline, cafeteria, retail outlets, and room service functions.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Monitor compliance with all safety, sanitation, and quality control requirements.
  • Supervise assigned personnel to ensure high-quality food production and exceptional customer service.
  • Uphold the standards of the system-wide customer service program.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs of patients and staff.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and ordering of food and supplies.

**Requirements:**

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or comparable Level 2 food protection course certification.
  • Two to three years of experience in food production with supervisory responsibilities in an institutional or similar setting.
  • Through knowledge of culinary arts, including baking, salad preparation, hot food preparation, banquet production, and service.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and storage procedures.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Culinary graduate strongly preferred.
  • Previous Sous Chef or Head Cook experience.
