Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and discrepancies.
  • Review and analyze project revenues, expenses, budgets, and variances.
  • Facilitate monthly financial reviews with management.
  • Oversee the month-end financial closing process.
  • Reconcile General Ledger (GL) accounts.
  • Process and review various journal entries, including deferred rent, depreciation/amortization, and accruals.
  • Compile consolidated financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, equity statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with various audits, including financial, overhead, and project audits.
  • Prepare financial reports and ad hoc reports as required.
  • Enhance processes and internal controls.
  • Verify that invoices are matched with the appropriate purchase orders.
  • Ensure that check requests, invoices, expense reimbursements, and sub-consultant invoices have the necessary authorizations.
  • Sort, code, and enter vouchers into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and prepare analyses of accounts at the group level, ensuring vendor records are accurately maintained.
  • Research and propose programs, policies, and procedures to improve the efficiency of accounts payable.
  • Prepare checks, including releasing ACH transactions and web payments, along with necessary documentation.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in either public or private sectors is required.
  • Experience in both GL and project accounting is essential.
  • Experience in the A&E industry is required.
  • Audit experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Familiarity with accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) overhead is preferred but not required.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check in compliance with NIST.
