Position Title: Information Security Manager

Position Overview:

The Information Security Manager at CUTX is tasked with the critical responsibility of managing the organization's information security, cybersecurity, and IT risk management initiatives. This role is pivotal in aligning with established industry standards and frameworks for information security and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the ongoing development, execution, and refinement of security and privacy policies, standards, and procedures.
  2. Provide strategic guidance for the security program to enhance the organization’s information security posture.
  3. Design and evaluate policies and procedures to protect the integrity and accessibility of systems and electronic data.
  4. Identify and assess vulnerabilities within the network, applications, and data systems.
  5. Develop and manage frameworks and processes that enable effective risk management and informed decision-making regarding IT activities.
  6. Proactively identify and mitigate IT risks, responding to findings from audits and facilitating compliance with regulatory standards.
  7. Conduct investigations into security incidents, documenting findings and recommendations while analyzing trends.
  8. Coordinate incident response efforts for security breaches, including unauthorized access and data compromise.
  9. Stay informed about the latest developments in IT security standards and threats.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven experience in risk management, compliance, and information security policy formulation.
  • Familiarity with various disciplines related to information security, including business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Experience in developing security awareness training programs.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and security protocols.
  • Proficient in managing and securing both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and convey information clearly.
  • Proficient in problem-solving and analytical reasoning.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in a security-focused role within an enterprise environment, with familiarity in tools such as firewalls and cloud security practices.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform sedentary work, including frequent communication and the ability to interpret various forms of information. Strong reasoning and mathematical skills are essential for success in this role.
