Amentum is seeking a Submarine Radar Engineering Technician (ISIS) to enhance our team. In this role, you will conduct technical assessments and implement necessary corrective measures for Virginia Class AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) systems, adhering to Department of Defense and Navy Maintenance Procedures. You will also play a crucial role in the installation, testing, and certification of the AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) systems on Virginia class submarines, while providing support across various engineering tasks related to the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, and operation of systems in line with engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering and design teams in diverse tasks related to the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of various electronic and mechanical systems in accordance with engineering standards.
  • Install, monitor, and maintain SWFTS Tech-Insertion & APB cycle of AN/BVY ISIS & AN/BPS radar systems at multiple Naval sites.
  • Assist in testing, evaluation, checkout, and certification activities.
  • Conduct validations and verifications of different electronic systems.
  • Review change proposals to assess equipment impacts.
  • Assist in executing Engineering Change Instructions.
  • Generate technical and engineering documentation for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operational procedures, and enhancements for maintainability.
  • Establish and manage filing systems, databases, and logs for tracking project progress and inventory.
  • Provide technical insights and evaluations for component installations, equipment maintenance, and systems in accordance with engineering plans and contract specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Secret US Government Clearance is required. Note: US Citizenship is necessary to maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Five (5) years of practical experience with a High School Diploma/GED OR three (3) years of experience with an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, mathematics, or science; or formal electronics training from a Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or completion of a four-year electronics apprenticeship program.
  • Hands-on experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of C5I and/or NC3 systems/equipment.
  • Experience in maintenance, repair, and/or installation disciplines.
  • Familiarity with the design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience across various submarine platforms and SWFTS systems.
  • Completion of the ISIS maintenance course A.

Compensation & Benefits:

This position is hourly and eligible for overtime, falling under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, you may receive additional health and welfare payments for each hour worked to ensure compliance with the minimums established by the act. The amount you receive will vary based on the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
