Amentum is seeking a Submarine Radar Engineering Technician (ISIS) to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting technical assessments and implementing necessary corrective measures for Virginia Class AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) systems, adhering to Department of Defense and Navy Maintenance Procedures. You will also assist in the installation, testing, and certification of these systems on Virginia class submarines, while providing support across various engineering tasks related to installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, and operation of systems in line with engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering and design teams in a range of tasks involving the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic and mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Install, monitor, and service SWFTS Tech-Insertion & APB cycle of AN/BVY ISIS & AN/BPS radar systems at various naval facilities.
  • Assist with testing, evaluation, checkout, and certification processes.
  • Conduct validations and verifications of various electronic systems.
  • Review equipment change proposals for potential impacts.
  • Aid in the execution of Engineering Change Instructions.
  • Develop technical and engineering documentation for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting guides, drawing updates, operational procedures, and maintainability enhancements.
  • Establish and maintain filing systems, databases, and logs for tracking project status and inventory management.
  • Provide technical evaluations and data for component installations, equipment maintenance, and systems in accordance with engineering plans and contract specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Secret US Government Clearance is required. Note: US Citizenship is necessary to maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of practical experience with a High School Diploma/GED OR three (3) years of experience with an Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, mathematics, or science; or formal electronics training from a technical school, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or completion of a four-year electronics apprenticeship program.
  • Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of C5I and/or NC3 systems and equipment.
  • Experience in maintenance, repair, and/or installation disciplines.
  • Proficiency in the design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems.
  • Graduate of the ISIS maintenance course A.

Compensation & Benefits:

This position is hourly and eligible for overtime under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In addition to your base hourly rate, you may qualify for additional health and welfare payments for each hour worked, ensuring compliance with the minimums established by the act. The amount you receive will vary based on the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
