Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary and transformative leader to join Old Dominion University as the Senior Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. The successful candidate will oversee the transformation of HR, rebranding, rebuilding, and becoming more forward-focused on technology, AI, data collection, and analytics, while moving to a Business Partner model.

The Senior Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer will serve as a strategic partner in navigating the post-integration landscape, reporting to and serving as an advisor to the VP of Human Resources, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on strategic initiatives.

This key leader will lead ODU's HR organization and a department of approximately 30, with three direct reports, running the day-to-day execution of HR programs, policies, and procedures, including Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, and Employee Relations.

The preferred candidate will be a collaborative and innovative leader who drives the organization's mission, values, and strategic direction in line with the mission, vision, and values of Old Dominion University overall.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants are required to have a minimum of 15 years of related HR experience, or training and experience, with demonstrated leadership in human resources.

While a Master's is strongly preferred, a Bachelor's degree is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education is highly desired but not required.
