Senior Grants and Contracts Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Grants and Contracts Specialist to join our team at the Virginia Department of Human Resource Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level administrative support by conducting research, reviewing and editing technical reports, and handling information requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sponsored programs, with experience in electronic proposal submissions, data analysis, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the Office of Sponsored Programs operates at optimum efficiency in a professional business environment setting.
* Assist with processing all grant, contract, memoranda of agreement, and proposals as required by sponsors, the University, and OSP standards.
* Independently respond to internal and external inquiries, directing and redirecting inquiries as appropriate, securing signatures and other approvals, and following up with needed documentation.
* Conduct monthly reconciliations for various OSP systems and data, and prepare a written detailed monthly update for the Director and Assistant Director.
* Provide technical, administrative, and program assistance for a wide range of OSP functions and deliverables as assigned.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area, with extensive demonstrable hands-on experience in sponsored programs.
* Knowledge of federal, state, and community funding sources and mechanisms.
* Knowledge and understanding of agreements, guidelines, and policies.
* Extensive experience in electronic proposal, reports, and data submissions.
* Working knowledge of related federal and state rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
