Job Summary:

Old Dominion University seeks a visionary and transformative leader to serve as the Senior Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. This key position will oversee the transformation of HR, rebranding, rebuilding, and becoming more forward-focused on technology, AI, data collection, and analytics, while moving to a Business Partner model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead ODU's HR organization and a department of approximately 30, with three direct reports.
  • Run the day-to-day execution of HR programs, policies, and procedures, including Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, and Employee Relations.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, community members, and administrators to drive the organization's mission, values, and strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance HR services and support the university's goals.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 15 years of related HR experience, or training and experience, with demonstrated leadership in human resources.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
