Your Role:

Auben Realty is currently looking for candidates with exceptional quantitative, qualitative, and interpersonal skills for Analyst roles within our Real Estate Advisory Team. The primary responsibility of the Analyst is to conduct sector-specific research across various markets and segments of the real estate investment landscape, including single-family scattered sites, multifamily properties, and 'build to rent' rental homes, across opportunistic, value-add, core, and credit scenarios. The Analyst will collaborate within a team to identify and perform due diligence, analyze Private Placement Memorandums (PPMs), financial statements, and other operational data necessary for calculating investment return scenarios. Additionally, the Analyst will partner with co-investment and secondary teams to source, evaluate, and execute transactions. There will be opportunities to present findings and recommendations to the Board alongside the investment team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Private Equity, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • Proven academic and professional success
  • Previous internships or work experience in private equity real estate, investment banking, consulting, or similar fields
  • Willingness to travel, primarily within the country
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to adapt within Auben Realty's dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
  • Developing investment judgment and understanding of risk/reward dynamics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable analytical skills, including robust quantitative and modeling capabilities
  • Experience in valuation and investment analysis
  • Enrollment in the CFA program is a plus
  • Exhibit a positive, team-oriented attitude

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research utilizing publicly available information and proprietary databases to identify and analyze macroeconomic trends across various sectors
  • Interpret financial analyses prepared by target fund managers, including investment track records and financial statement evaluations
  • Assist senior Advisory staff in sourcing and managing investment opportunities
  • Evaluate marketing materials from prospective fund managers to identify key value drivers and areas requiring further investigation
  • Conduct interviews with senior executives to gather insights on the effectiveness of target fund managers
  • Formulate independent opinions regarding the attractiveness of sectors or investment opportunities
  • Effectively communicate positions both verbally and in written formats, including defending positions in team settings such as Investment Committee meetings
  • Utilize creativity to source and analyze data, testing hypotheses regarding the attractiveness of specific sectors and investment opportunities
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with managers, conducting ongoing due diligence
  • Perform financial modeling and sensitivity analyses related to co-investment and secondary opportunities
  • Draft investment memorandums and presentations related to fund, co-investment, and secondary diligence
