Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver application and system support by evaluating business challenges and enhancing or creating application or system solutions through thoughtful recommendations and implementations.
  • Oversee, assess, test, and configure application performance while applying preventive maintenance measures.
  • Assist in problem resolution by providing guidance and support. In cases of software issues, develop and implement corrective actions to establish workarounds. Collaborate with vendors and other necessary resources to resolve issues, and ensure data file backup and recovery procedures are in place during system failures.
  • Formulate plans and procedures for implementing enhancements, corrections, or modifications to software, considering data conversions, hardware installation timelines, vendor technician availability, and user community impact.
  • Document and report on work progress, assisting as needed. Coordinate and integrate completed tasks into the overall project framework, keeping supervisors informed of progress, challenges, and developments affecting completion timelines.
  • Provide user training on assigned applications to ensure effective utilization.
  • Undertake additional duties and responsibilities that are relevant and suitable to the position. The responsibilities outlined above are a general description of the level and nature of work assigned to this classification and are not exhaustive.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of healthcare software solutions, alongside a comprehensive understanding of application programming methods, procedures, and techniques to deliver troubleshooting and consulting services effectively.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in programming, technical network architecture, Information Systems management, and network operating systems.
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills to assess complex tasks, systems, and problems, determine viable solutions, and design, implement, and evaluate the most effective outcomes.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively analyze, interact, and provide recommendations to system users, leadership, and vendors.
  • Have a novice to intermediate understanding of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Clinical Information Systems (CIS).
  • Showcase strong interpersonal skills with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with staff, physicians, hospital and university officials, and the general public.
  • Work tactfully and effectively with team members, vendors, and the user community.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field in Information Systems is required. Alternatively, ten or more years of relevant experience with IT or systems certification will be accepted.
  • Experience in applying analysis, design, configuration, and project management skills with a focus on systems implementation. Experience with Siemens Invision and Soarian Clinicals is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in healthcare and software systems.
  • Comprehensive software cycle experience, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • On-call availability is a requirement for this position.
