The Georgia Education Savings Authority (GESA) is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as the Executive Vice President, responsible for the execution and oversight of the Promise Scholarship initiative. This role encompasses a broad spectrum of leadership, financial management, and program administration for the Authority. The Executive Vice President will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations that govern the Authority's operations while directing policies, procedures, and team dynamics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Duties

  • Collaborates closely with the executive management team of the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC).
  • Engages in negotiations of intergovernmental agreements with essential agencies.
  • Develops and enforces regulations for the Promise Scholarship initiative.
  • Oversees cash management protocols.
  • Approves the recruitment of pivotal GESA personnel.
  • Actively participates in the leadership team for the Promise Scholarship initiative.

General Duties

  • Manages strategic planning, staff leadership, and project oversight.
  • Leads efforts to disseminate information and deliver services through public engagement programs.
  • Conducts interviews, hires, trains, and assesses the performance of the management team.
  • Ensures adherence to state and federal regulations in staff coaching and counseling.
  • Guarantees operational efficiency and accuracy through effective systems and organizational structures.
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Oversees the budgetary management of the Authority.
  • Coordinates with external stakeholders and promotes the Promise Scholarship initiative statewide.
  • Fosters positive relationships with organizations to advocate for the Promise Scholarship initiative.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of ten years of executive management experience in finance or banking.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with industry expertise.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Master's degree in a related field and/or over ten years of executive experience is preferred.
