Senior Vice President of Education Savings

The Georgia Education Savings Authority (GESA) is seeking a Senior Vice President to lead the implementation and oversight of the Promise Scholarship initiative. This role encompasses a broad spectrum of leadership, financial stewardship, and program management responsibilities. The Vice President will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing the Authority's operations while directing policies, procedures, and team dynamics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties
- Collaborates with the executive management team of the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC).
- Engages in negotiations for intergovernmental agreements with essential agencies.
- Establishes guidelines for the Promise Scholarship initiative.
- Oversees cash management protocols.
- Approves the recruitment of key personnel for GESA.
- Participates actively in the leadership team for the Promise Scholarship initiative.
General Duties
- Directs strategic planning, staff leadership, and project execution.
- Leads efforts to disseminate information and deliver services through public engagement programs.
- Conducts interviews, hires, trains, and assesses the performance of the management team.
- Ensures adherence to state and federal regulations in coaching and mentoring staff.
- Promotes efficiency and accuracy through established systems and organizational frameworks.
- Develops and implements policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Manages the financial budget of the Authority.
- Coordinates with external stakeholders and advocates for the Promise Scholarship initiative statewide.
- Fosters positive relationships with organizations to enhance the visibility of the Promise Scholarship initiative.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of ten years of executive management experience in finance or banking.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with industry expertise.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Master's degree in a related field and/or over ten years of executive experience is preferred.
