  • Participate in the implementation of settlements, agreements, and/or legal judgments within approved guidelines, ensuring effective and efficient resolution of disputes.
  • Implement administrative processes designed to maintain and monitor the legal compliance of departmental processes and activities, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Identify and resolve, or assist in the resolution of, legal problems, providing expert guidance and advice.
  • Draft amendments to existing contracts and standardized letters and notices related to administrative legal procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop, oversee, and implement administrative processes designed to maintain and monitor the legal compliance of department processes, ensuring effective and efficient operation.
  • Coordinate and implement due process procedures and procedures for appeals, ensuring fair and impartial treatment of all parties.
  • Act as a resource to answer questions and evaluate the status of reimbursements or recoupments, providing expert guidance and advice.
  • May supervise and/or direct the work of others, demonstrating exceptional leadership and management skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university.
  • License to practice law in the State of Georgia.
  • OR Eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination.
  • OR Reciprocity and two years of relevant legal experience.
  • OR Two years of experience required at the lower-level Attorney 2 (LEP021).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong writing skills and analytical skills.
  • Experience in Juvenile Justice and Advocacy.
  • Experience with employment law, worker's compensation, and contract review.
