KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Preparation of journal entries, worksheets, reconciliations, and other documentation to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Monthly reconciliations of assigned cash accounts for both internal and external auditors.
  • Review of transactions with recommendations for accruals and deferrals.
  • Input of journal entries into accounting software (post-approval) as necessary.
  • Preparation of monthly financial analyses of assigned balance sheet accounts for the General Ledger Supervisor.
  • Assistance in the generation of internal financial reports.
  • Maintaining the utmost confidentiality.
  • Leading by example to inspire all team members.
  • Ensuring consistent and regular attendance.

AGE and GAMING:

Must be 21 years of age or older

Gaming property - Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A High School diploma or GED is mandatory. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. An Associate's degree in accounting with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience using automated General Ledger systems or similar accounting experience may be accepted in lieu of the Bachelor's degree. One (1) year of public accounting experience or one year in a comparable accounting role is preferred.

TESTING:

Must demonstrate the ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute with 85% accuracy, achieve a minimum of 8000 KPH with 95% accuracy on 10-Key, and score 70% or better within 20 minutes on the Excel assessment. Required testing for this position must be completed.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Must possess exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical abilities. Must be highly numbers-oriented and proficient in computer use, with advanced spreadsheet skills. Must successfully learn the automated General Ledger System and Inventory Control/Purchasing System within 90 days of employment.

LANGUAGE ABILITIES:

Ability to understand basic instructions provided in oral, written, or diagram form. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITIES:

Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lifting or maneuvering at least forty (40) pounds and sitting and talking for extended periods exceeding 4 hours. Must be able to walk or stand for 50% of the assigned shift. Frequent use of a computer, monitor, and calculator is expected, which may lead to possible eye strain.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.

The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level may increase significantly. Associates may be exposed to tobacco smoke in designated areas.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality and entertainment industry, Associates must be flexible to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the organization.
