Position Overview

We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee essential accounting functions for HI-US. This role involves the preparation of regular financial reports, maintaining a robust accounting record system, and implementing comprehensive controls to minimize risks, enhance the accuracy of financial reporting, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax regulations.

You will collaborate closely with the Director of Finance and be an integral part of the North American Finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all billing, revenue, and accounts payable operations for HI-US, managing a team of two accounting professionals.
  • Lead a portfolio of revenue projects, ensuring timely completion through financial analysis and compliance reporting.
  • Coordinate the month-end closing process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other necessary accounting tasks.
  • Handle Treasury functions for Haarslev North America, including daily cash accounting, monthly reconciliations, and cash forecasting for executive review.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of spare parts inventory and assist in estimating inventory obsolescence reserves per company guidelines and GAAP.
  • Facilitate accounts payable activities in line with vendor terms and company policies.
  • Support the documentation of processes and workflows affecting monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and reporting.
  • Assist with local tax filing obligations related to sales and use tax, ensuring tax exemption certificates are current and accessible.
  • Participate in intercompany reconciliations and billings in accordance with Transfer Pricing guidelines.
  • Support the Director of Finance with various reporting deliverables on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Contribute to additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing constructive feedback and identifying training needs.
  • Offer operational and financial insights to senior management based on thorough research and data analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Interpret accounting standards and implement compliant processes.
  • Assist with inquiries from internal and external auditors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Sage 100 accounting software, Office 365, and Concur is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities, capable of working independently or collaboratively across all organizational levels.
