Candidate Profile

The ideal Healthcare Administrative Coordinator will possess the following qualifications:

• Education: An associate degree or certificate in medical administrative assistance from an accredited institution.

• Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with HEALTHeLINK is preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is preferred.
  • Experience with Medent is preferred.
  • Administrative experience in a value-based clinical setting.
  • Experience in an urban healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: We seek individuals who are committed to addressing long-standing gaps in healthcare delivery for underserved populations.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities. Bilingual skills are a plus. The capacity to present concepts clearly and effectively to team members is essential.

Job Responsibilities

The Healthcare Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support under the supervision of healthcare professionals, fostering long-term patient relationships.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as verifying patient demographics, insurance details, and visit registrations, as well as managing payment collections.
  • Assisting with medical records management and addressing quality improvement activities.
  • Preparing prior authorizations for diagnostic tests as required by insurance providers.
  • Managing incoming communications, including faxes, orders, and referrals.
  • Preparing patient charts and assisting with health information management.
  • Updating and maintaining patient health records.
  • Handling patient inquiries and scheduling appointments, including reminder calls and rescheduling.
  • Conducting follow-up calls for missed appointments and necessary testing.
  • Completing required forms and monitoring quality measures.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment:

This position involves office-based work in a standard office setting, requiring effective communication with colleagues and clients. Regular use of telecommunication devices and computers is essential, and the role may involve occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Good manual dexterity and reasoning abilities are important for the successful execution of job responsibilities.
