Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for the Medical Administrative Assistant role should possess the following qualifications:

  • Education: An associate degree or certificate in medical administrative assistance from an accredited institution.
  • Experience:
    • Preferred minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Familiarity with HEALTHeLINK is advantageous.
    • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Medent is beneficial.
    • Administrative experience in a value-based clinical environment is preferred.
    • Experience in urban healthcare settings is desirable.

Job Responsibilities

The Medical Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support under the direction of healthcare providers and fostering long-term patient relationships.
  • Executing administrative tasks such as verifying patient demographics, insurance details, and visit registrations, as well as managing payment collections.
  • Assisting with the management of medical records and ensuring the completion of quality improvement activities.
  • Preparing and processing prior authorizations for diagnostic tests through insurance channels.
  • Managing incoming communications, including faxes, orders, and referrals, and ensuring proper routing of documents.
  • Preparing patient charts and assisting with health information management.
  • Updating and maintaining patient health records accurately.
  • Handling patient inquiries and directing them appropriately.
  • Scheduling patient appointments, making reminder calls, and managing rescheduling as needed.
  • Conducting follow-up calls for missed appointments and testing.
  • Completing necessary forms and scheduling patient visits.
  • Monitoring quality measures and tracking performance metrics.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

General Duties

The Medical Administrative Assistant will also be tasked with:

CINQCARE offers healthcare benefits to employees working an average of 30 or more hours per week, with costs shared between the company and employees.

Work Environment: This position involves office-based work in a traditional office setting with climate control and artificial lighting. The role requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including customers and team members, both in person and through electronic means. Prolonged periods of sitting and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally may be necessary. Proficiency in using standard office equipment is essential.
