Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and assess a wide range of resident-focused activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Engage residents in the creation of personalized activity programs, ensuring their involvement and advocating for their preferences and rights.
  • Attend and contribute to various meetings, including resident and family councils, as well as departmental discussions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to activities.
  • Participate in community fundraising initiatives.
  • Foster positive connections with local businesses and organizations through volunteer-driven outings and activities.
  • Recognize and address the need for disciplinary actions when necessary.

Qualifications:
  • In-depth understanding of activity practices, relevant standards, and regulations governing long-term care.
  • Previous experience in management or leadership roles, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or a related discipline, or completion of a 90-hour course for activity professionals.
  • Ability to make sound independent decisions as situations arise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members, residents, families, and the public.
  • Capability to plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of engaging activities.
  • Willingness to explore and integrate new methods and principles into existing practices.
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license may be required.
  • Certification as a CTRS is mandatory.
