Position Summary

We are in search of a technically proficient program manager with substantial hands-on experience in program management, particularly in the design and execution of prototype projects. This role will entail overseeing projects centered on autonomy, from strategic planning and implementation to technical delivery and transition of innovative commercial technologies. A background in supporting programs related to autonomous systems and associated technologies is essential. The selected candidate will work closely with both internal and external technical teams, Department of Defense (DoD) leaders, recognized experts, and military personnel to devise coordinated strategies for unique DoD challenges.

  • Identify DoD challenges that could be addressed through commercial autonomous solutions and lead the curation of these challenges with stakeholders.
  • Engage in outreach and collaboration with commercial vendors, industry leaders, academia, and other non-traditional partners, as well as DoD entities and program offices.
  • Utilize knowledge of relevant DoD technology acquisition and research services, alongside commercial best practices, to develop timely transition strategies.
  • Apply a technical background in defense systems to support the development and execution of multiple projects across various portfolios.
  • Comprehend how military services prioritize technology development and translate these priorities into actionable strategies for the private sector.
  • Manage relationships between DoD clients and commercial partners essential for successful program execution.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • A minimum of 5 years of research and program support experience in defense, intelligence, national security, or diplomatic missions.
  • Proven experience in supporting prototype projects related to autonomous systems and technologies such as cybersecurity, human systems, and AI/ML.
  • Understanding of how private industry and DoD can collaborate to address technical capability gaps.
  • Experience in rapid-needs assessment processes and a demonstrated ability to translate challenges and capability gaps into operational systems.
  • Proven capability to lead diverse project teams and provide comprehensive status reporting, briefings, and assessments to stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are critical.
  • Exemplary character.

Desired:
