Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join our Aurora Services Platform team. This team plays a pivotal role in the commercialization of our Aurora Driver technology for public road use and carrier operations. The successful candidate will facilitate communication of critical information to our fleet and transportation management systems while providing essential tools for scheduling, dispatch, routing, monitoring, and control at both fleet and vehicle levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop operational technologies and support services that enable seamless integration of the Aurora Driver into existing logistics frameworks.
- Create solutions that enhance the operational efficiency of autonomous vehicles and support resources for continuous operation.
- Collaborate closely with various teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Autonomy, Safety, Security, and Operations, to execute our strategic roadmap.
- Oversee and manage large-scale, complex projects that span multiple functional teams and initiatives.
- Coordinate with Engineering to monitor progress against technical requirements.
- Work alongside Operations to track success metrics and project outcomes.
- Establish regular meetings to address known issues, feature requests, and bugs.
- Provide comprehensive status reports, highlighting risks and blockers, and seek cross-functional support as needed.
- Evaluate team resource capacity to ensure effective workload management and prioritization.
- Integrate feedback from various internal and external stakeholders to formulate cohesive program work plans.
- Facilitate execution towards company milestones and demonstrations.
- Possess a thorough technical understanding of the Aurora Services platform, including cloud infrastructure, integrations, network performance, and user experience.
- Assess architectural implementations and suggest alternatives when necessary.
- Proactively identify and eliminate obstacles to maintain project momentum and progress.
- Generate weekly reports and conduct programmatic meetings tailored to the audience's needs.
Qualifications
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to comprehend technical designs and the software development lifecycle.
- Proven experience working closely with engineering teams.
- A minimum of 7 years in a Technical Program Manager or Engineering Manager role within a SaaS, Cloud Services, or software development environment.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adept at shifting focus between various priorities.
- Exceptional cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
- Experience collaborating with Product Management to define strategic roadmaps.
- Ability to decompose complex projects into manageable milestones.
- Extensive project management experience, with familiarity in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- A passion for launching innovative products and a willingness to embrace new responsibilities.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $181,000 - $290,000 per year, determined by role, level, and location. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and comprehensive benefits.
