Position Overview:

The Culinary Service Associate will play a vital role in ensuring efficient meal service across various educational facilities.

Responsibilities include receiving, preparing, heating, and serving meals at designated sites while adhering to the quality standards set by Revolution Foods.

Associates will be informed of their assignments the day before or, in some cases, on the morning of their shift.

Due to operational needs, the associate must be ready to travel and provide service for multiple meal periods at different locations throughout the day.

Participation in special company events, such as BBQs and food tastings, is also expected.

Reliable transportation is essential, and associates will receive reimbursement for travel expenses. A minimum of 20 hours per week (4 hours daily) is guaranteed from Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. Hours may occasionally exceed this minimum based on the company’s requirements. Punctuality and adherence to the time and attendance policy are crucial.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ensure compliance with food quality standards and HACCP protocols from delivery through to service.
  • Follow established recipes and guidelines for setting up and dismantling the food service area, including preparation, stocking, and serving meals, snacks, and beverages.
  • Process student ID cards, cash, or checks, and manage transactions in accordance with school contract and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist the service team with food management, setup, service, and cleanup after breakfast and lunch.
  • Document daily activities, waste, participation data, and variances while completing required checklists.
  • Keep students informed about the menu and new offerings, seeking feedback to enhance participation.
  • Maintain a safe food environment in line with state, federal, and company policies, ensuring a clean and organized service area.
  • Promote a safety-first approach, addressing hazards and ensuring proper equipment use and storage.
  • May assist with organizing trays and staging for service.
  • Participate in the company’s sustainability initiatives, including composting and recycling.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Acknowledge that Revolution Foods reserves the right to modify employee assignments as necessary.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a high-volume food service environment.
  • Basic proficiency in computer and mathematical skills.
  • ServSafe food handler certification is required prior to working on-site and can be obtained post-offer.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screenings, including background checks and health assessments, is mandatory.
  • Review and sign any necessary company documents or training updates annually.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including early morning and midday shifts.
  • Familiarity with safe food handling practices and kitchen equipment is preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission of Revolution Foods, ensuring access to nutritious meals for children.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, including lifting 25-50 pounds.
  • Ability to clock in and out using the designated mobile application.
