Position Summary

The Cage Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in managing the daily activities within the cage and main banking areas, ensuring the effective performance of the cage staff. This position is essential for safeguarding company resources by enforcing adherence to established policies, gaming regulations, and internal controls. As a key member of the management team, the Cage Operations Supervisor fosters a collaborative work atmosphere by promoting teamwork, delivering strong leadership, and exemplifying outstanding guest service in line with Soboba Casino's service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a cashier in the cage, kiosk, and main bank, depending on operational needs and personal expertise.
  • Guarantee that all transactions are executed efficiently while maintaining positive communication and interpersonal skills with both internal and external guests.
  • Ensure proper security and accountability for all company assets, including keys, currency, and funds within the assigned areas.
  • Uphold compliance with company policies, gaming regulations, and internal controls.
  • Complete necessary forms, logs, and reports related to transactions.
  • Account for counting, verifying, and documenting all monetary transactions in and out of the cage and main bank.
  • Accurately report all tips received by casino team members in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and process all bank deposits and currency exchanges.
  • Authorize check cashing and cash advance requests.
  • Oversee the operation of automated currency dispensing units.
  • Facilitate payouts for slot jackpots and manage table game fills and credits.
  • Issue and redeem markers for lines of credit.
  • Conduct opening and closing cash inventories at the start and end of each shift.
  • Accurately process daily revenue.
  • Receive and verify daily revenue reports from the count team.
  • Comply with BSA/AML, MSB, and OFAC regulations.
  • Provide training and support for newly hired or promoted cashiers.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct in accordance with Soboba Casino standards.
  • Foster effective communication with the Cash Operations Manager and other departmental leaders.
  • Investigate discrepancies in cashier transactions.
  • Direct the cage and main bank operations in alignment with established policies and regulations.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and initiative in daily tasks.
  • Monitor overall departmental operations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Recognize and reward performance that exceeds standards while addressing areas needing improvement.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Supervisory Duties

  • Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching employees.
  • Adhere to all company safety and security protocols; report any incidents or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Ensure that uniforms and personal appearance are professional and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards; proactively address their service needs.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships to support team objectives.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience handling large cash volumes in a banking or casino environment is required.
  • Previous supervisory or lead cashier experience is preferred.
  • Experience with currency machine repair is a plus.
  • Any combination of education, experience, and training that provides the necessary knowledge and skills is acceptable.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Must pass all required drug and alcohol tests.
