QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 35 years of relevant experience in crop production and operation of large agricultural machinery. Experience from planting through harvest is preferred. Familiarity with precision GPS technology is essential. Capability to perform routine maintenance and general repairs is required. Welding and fabrication skills are advantageous. Strong time management skills to complete daily tasks efficiently are necessary. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory. We seek an individual who is committed, loyal, and honest, with a long-term career perspective. A positive attitude, self-motivation, and a willingness to assist when needed are crucial. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a safe and productive environment are required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is seeking an Agricultural Operations Supervisor for a dynamic Dairy and Farming enterprise in Colorado.

This company operates a highly innovative Dairy and Farming business on the Front Range of Colorado, in search of a qualified individual to support the Farm Manager.

The ideal candidate should present themselves well and possess the desire to contribute positively to the team.

We are looking for candidates with experience and knowledge of precision agricultural equipment.

The responsibilities of this role will vary with the seasons, making adaptability and a positive attitude essential as this individual will be expected to manage multiple demands of the farm.

This person should take pride in their work, be self-driven, and have a passion for agriculture.

They must be able to follow directions from the farm manager, demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, and show initiative in finding solutions as challenges arise.

Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience.

This is a forward-thinking operation seeking a long-term employee who aspires to grow with the farm and take on increasing responsibilities.


Farming Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planting, cultivation, irrigation, harvesting, and storage of crops.
  • Be knowledgeable about farming equipment: understand its functions, capabilities, and limitations; conduct regular inspections; perform daily maintenance; ensure cleanliness; prepare for use; communicate and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs; operate safely and effectively; and maintain productivity.
  • Perform selected equipment maintenance and repairs as time and resources allow.
  • Oversee daily irrigation activities when applicable, implementing feedback systems to minimize downtime and reduce risks of damage due to equipment malfunction.
  • Harvest and store crops in a manner that supports cattle and dairy production objectives.
  • Assist in managing the application of dry manure and compost to fields.
  • Help oversee the storage, handling, and application of dairy effluent water through center pivots.
  • Maintain environmental records related to farming activities, precipitation, pond levels, and solid application.
  • Coordinate with the Farm Team on specific agricultural tasks.
