Position Overview

SAIC is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to critical projects within the organization.

Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, requiring approximately four days per week at the office.

Role Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will engage with project management and engineering teams to support various defense-related systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading engineering initiatives, including defining operational concepts, requirements analysis, and system design.
  • Ensuring that product requirements are effectively translated into comprehensive systems solutions, considering technical, schedule, and budgetary constraints.
  • Conducting systems engineering tasks related to the development of electronic systems.
  • Performing detailed trade studies and requirements allocation to align customer needs with engineering specifications.
  • Providing in-depth technical guidance for implementation strategies.
  • Applying a strong understanding of technical principles across various domains, including aircraft power systems and software design.
  • Setting objectives and guiding team members in accordance with established policies.
  • Offering innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address technical issues.
  • Delivering full lifecycle support for systems developed by SAIC.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field with a minimum of five years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in product development within regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with project management and requirement tracking tools.
  • Proficiency in both analog and digital design methodologies.
  • Experience with systems incorporating embedded microprocessors and FPGAs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DOORS and Product Lifecycle Management tools.
  • Knowledge of defense acquisition processes and systems engineering reviews.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.
  • Background in defense systems integration and aircraft weapon systems.
