Position Overview

SAIC is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to our initiatives supporting NAVAIR.

Work Arrangement: This role offers a hybrid work model, requiring approximately four days a week at our designated office.

Role Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will engage with PMA 205, focusing on a POD simulator program designed for military applications, including aircraft and naval vessels. The team consists of engineers and drafting professionals who are responsible for maintaining and updating comprehensive data packages for combat simulators. The drafting team utilizes software such as Siemens NX and ZUKEN for document conversion, redlining drawings, and ensuring compliance with ASME standards. The engineering lead will oversee research and analysis of components while managing team operations and workflow.

Key Duties Include:

  • Providing engineering leadership and team direction, including formulating operational concepts, defining requirements, and conducting system analysis and design.
  • Ensuring effective implementation of product requirements into comprehensive system solutions while considering technical, scheduling, and budgetary constraints.
  • Conducting Systems Engineering activities related to the development of electronic assemblies.
  • Performing detailed trade studies and requirements allocation to translate customer needs into engineering specifications.
  • Offering detailed insights for selection and implementation methodologies.
  • Applying a solid understanding of technical principles in areas such as aircraft power, analog and digital design, and software systems.
  • Receiving assignments as objectives and establishing goals to achieve them.
  • Providing guidance to team members in accordance with established policies.
  • Engaging in frequent inter-organizational and external customer interactions.
  • Representing the organization in addressing complex technical challenges associated with projects.
  • Delivering full lifecycle support for systems provided by SAIC.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of five years of experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
  • Familiarity with product development processes in automotive, medical, or defense sectors.
  • Experience with requirement tracking and project management software.
  • Proficiency in analog and digital design, including systems utilizing embedded microprocessors and FPGAs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DOORS and Product Life Cycle Management tools.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Defense Acquisition and Logistics Life Cycle Management System.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Familiarity with DoD weapons integration and aircraft systems.
