Position Overview
SAIC is in search of a Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to our initiatives in a dynamic environment.
Work Arrangement: This role offers a hybrid work model, requiring presence at the office for approximately four days each week.
Role Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will engage with a specialized team supporting a simulator program for military applications. This includes collaboration with engineers and drafting professionals to enhance data packages related to combat simulation systems. The drafting team utilizes advanced software tools for document conversion, drawing revisions, and compliance with industry standards.
The engineering lead will oversee research and analysis of components, manage team operations, and ensure the effective execution of daily tasks. The data package encompasses around 4000 technical drawings, and the engineer will be tasked with updating and standardizing these documents.
Key Duties Include:
- Providing leadership in engineering and team dynamics, including operational concept development, requirements analysis, and systems integration.
- Ensuring the successful implementation of product specifications while considering technical, scheduling, and budgetary constraints.
- Conducting Systems Engineering tasks related to the development of electronic systems.
- Performing detailed studies to translate customer needs into engineering specifications.
- Offering precise guidance on selection and implementation methodologies.
- Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of technical principles in aircraft power, design, and software systems.
- Receiving assignments with defined objectives and establishing strategies to achieve them.
- Directing team members in alignment with established policies.
- Evaluating work to ensure objectives are met effectively.
- Delivering innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Engaging in inter-organizational communications to address technical issues.
- Contributing to the full lifecycle support of provided systems.
Qualifications:
Essential Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field with a minimum of five years of experience.
- US Citizenship with the capability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Familiarity with product development processes in defense or similar sectors.
- Experience with project management and requirement tracking tools.
- Proficiency in analog and digital system design.
- Experience with systems utilizing embedded microprocessors and FPGAs.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with DOORS and Product Life Cycle Management tools.
- Knowledge of Integrated Defense Acquisition and Logistics Life Cycle Management.
- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience in DoD weapons integration and aircraft systems.
