Position Summary:
Security Automation Systems, Inc. is in search of a skilled Electrical Engineer to take on the role of Controls Engineer. This position is pivotal in the design, programming, configuration, procurement, construction, and installation of sophisticated security and control systems tailored for correctional facilities. The successful candidate will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will be classified as an overtime exempt role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize customer specifications to engineer and develop advanced security control systems.
- Program and evaluate security electronic equipment across various correctional and commercial sites.
- Oversee the commissioning (start-up) of security electronic systems for projects.
- Engage with clients professionally and maturely throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assume significant responsibility for assigned projects, demonstrating strong Project Management capabilities with minimal oversight.
- Ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints.
- Supervise field technicians and temporary staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Recent experience in PLC programming and HMI development.
- Experience in integrated systems design.
- High School Diploma and a 4-year Technical Engineering Degree.
- Familiarity with security electronics hardware, including door locks, CCTV systems, access control systems, and intercom systems is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for overnight assignments.
