Position Overview

AECOM is looking for a skilled Geologist to join our team, focusing on environmental projects, particularly those related to the Department of Defense (DoD). This role is integral to our Environmental business line and will be based in our offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize fundamental scientific principles and existing technologies to address technical challenges.
  • Prepare detailed technical work plans and comprehensive reports.
  • Analyze and interpret data, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Plan and execute environmental assessments in natural systems.
  • Employ standard field techniques to collect and prepare samples for analysis.
  • Apply knowledge of natural sciences to elucidate observations and findings.
  • Investigate contaminants and propose restoration strategies for the environment.
  • Prepare essential data and scientific documentation.
  • Conduct field tasks independently and guide team members in task execution.
  • Review analytical data to ensure quality and adherence to established guidelines.
  • Coordinate with project managers and subcontractors to support data collection and field documentation.
  • Provide technical expertise and support throughout project execution.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. AECOM offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and various wellness programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional registration or progress towards obtaining it.
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork and meetings.
  • Experience in developing site models and remediation strategies.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and familiarity with GIS and CAD tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and regulatory officials.
  • Physical capability to lift 50 pounds and operate a full-size pickup truck.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
