AECOM is seeking a skilled Geologist or Hydrogeologist to join our team, contributing to a variety of projects that encompass data management, site assessments, and remediation efforts.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in collecting and analyzing geological, hydrogeological, and geochemical data in both field and office environments.

Fieldwork will involve the collection of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air, and soil vapor samples, geological logging and interpretation, as well as overseeing subcontractors, including laboratories and drilling companies.

Office responsibilities will include preparing investigation reports and providing guidance to junior and mid-level staff on various projects. The role will also entail task management of field activities and supporting project managers in achieving project goals. Candidates must be willing to relocate to the designated area.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Support a diverse range of environmental investigation and remediation projects under applicable regulations.
+ Directly contribute to the preparation and review of technical project deliverables (e.g., work plans, remedial investigations, and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments).
+ Conduct soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion sampling.
+ Engage in projects concerning technical methodologies, numerical analysis, cost estimation, planning, design, scheduling, quality assurance, and safety.
+ Job duties will encompass both fieldwork and office tasks, with occasional travel required.
+ Develop clear and defensible Conceptual Site Models (CSMs) for complex sites.
+ Conduct research and perform investigative work as necessary.
+ Plan and organize project studies.
+ Assist in resolving conflicting technical information and addressing standard procedure limitations.
+ Understand applicable regulations and waste management requirements.
+ Develop project documents as required.
+ Evaluate complex environmental data sets, utilizing modeling and statistical methods.
+ Prepare work plans, technical reports, and presentations for meetings with clients and regulatory bodies.
+ Perform complex assignments that often require innovative solutions to challenges.
+ Maintain active communication with the technical team and Project Manager.
+ May supervise the work of less experienced scientists.


Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

+ BA/BS in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
+ Professional Geologist Registration in California.
+ Valid Driver's License.
+ US Citizenship or Permanent Residency.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's degree preferred.
+ Experience in business or proposal development.
+ Familiarity with California environmental regulations.
+ Experience in developing CSMs and remediation strategies.
+ Knowledge of contaminant fate and transport evaluation.
+ Experience conducting risk assessments is advantageous.
+ Understanding of vapor intrusion sampling methods and CSM development.
+ Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients and project teams.
+ Proficient in writing and reviewing complex technical documents.
+ Ability to prepare clear graphics and reports that convey complex technical information.
+ Proficient in various statistical software programs.
+ Strong team player with flexibility and attention to detail.
+ Capable of multitasking and possessing strong communication skills.
+ Organized and able to work within a team of technical experts.
+ Willingness to travel up to 20% to regional job sites.
+ Proficient in MS Office programs.
