Position Overview:

The U.S. Army is seeking a qualified individual to oversee interdisciplinary environmental engineering projects. This role involves critical analysis and strategic recommendations to leadership regarding resource allocation and workforce needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and assess new initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Guarantee the technical soundness of studies, plans, designs, and specifications related to environmental engineering, focusing on the management of liquid and solid waste.
  • Monitor project execution to ensure compliance with established criteria, timelines, budgets, and safety regulations.
  • Authorize reports, final designs, and construction plans to confirm adherence to design objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate and manage engineering project activities related to the investigation, design, and construction of environmental facilities.
Conditions of Employment:

Applicants may be subject to a suitability determination based on a background investigation. A valid state-issued driver's license is required, along with the ability to obtain certification for handling hazardous materials.

Routine medical examinations are mandatory due to potential exposure to hazardous conditions.

To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and experiential criteria outlined below. Relevant experience includes both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer roles.

Basic Requirements:

  • For Supervisory Civil Engineer/Environmental Engineer: Refer to the General Schedule Qualification Standards for educational prerequisites.
  • For Supervisory Chemist: Consult the General Schedule Qualification Standards for Chemistry Series educational requirements.
  • For Supervisory Geologist: Review the General Schedule Qualification Standards for Geology Series educational criteria.

In addition to the basic requirements, candidates must possess specialized experience in managing environmental projects, ensuring technical accuracy in investigations, studies, and remedial actions. This experience should encompass federal environmental regulations and project management.

Education:

Foreign education credentials must be evaluated by a recognized organization to confirm equivalency to U.S. standards.

Additional Information:

Applicants must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and may be required to complete a probationary period. Direct Deposit of Pay is mandatory.
