As a key member of the Human Resources Leadership Team, the Vice President of Total Rewards & HR Shared Services will oversee and direct the company's strategic initiatives related to Compensation, Benefits, Global Mobility, HR Systems, Analytics, Operations, and HR Administration. This role is crucial in leading and enhancing efficiencies and practices globally, ensuring a harmonious blend of innovative, forward-thinking strategies with practical, day-to-day operational effectiveness within the HR domain.
The Total Rewards and HR Operations team within UA's People (HR) division is responsible for managing all aspects of HR practices, operations, and Total Rewards programs across more than 30 countries.

This leader will adopt a strategic and experienced approach to streamline HR operations, reduce complexity, and enhance practices for all employees. Responsibilities may encompass HR strategic and transactional processes, including HRIS data management, HR administration, metrics and reporting, onboarding and offboarding processes, compensation, benefits, and global relocation initiatives.

Moreover, this individual will maintain a high level of business acumen and financial insight to effectively align and collaborate with business and HR leaders, the Compensation Committee, and the Board of Directors on strategic executive compensation plans. This position is part of UA's HR Leadership Team and reports directly to the Chief People Officer.

Your Impact

Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits, and Global Mobility)

  • Lead the design and implementation of UA's Global Total Rewards philosophy.
  • Collaborate with leadership, the Chief People Officer, and the Compensation Committee of the Board on strategic executive compensation plans.
  • Manage the annual compensation planning process, including base salary, bonuses, awards, and related communications.
  • Provide expert guidance to business units on compensation matters, including new hire packages, performance recognition, incentive plans, and retention strategies.
  • Prepare and present materials for Board of Directors Compensation Committee meetings and coordinate necessary executive compensation disclosures.
  • Design and implement the company's global benefits programs, including Health and Welfare, 401K/Retirement, Executive Benefits, Voluntary Benefits, and Wellness initiatives.
  • Oversee Retirement Committee meetings and ensure proper documentation of decisions and plan modifications.
  • Monitor trends and legislative changes impacting total rewards, ensuring compliance with global total rewards programs.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for compensation, benefits, and global mobility programs, ensuring alignment with financial expectations.
  • Provide leadership for Global Mobility (Relocation) programs.

HR Shared Services (HRIS, HR Administration and Operations, Payroll, and HR Analytics)

  • Champion a progressive HR Shared Services strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations of the HR Service Center, ensuring timely and accurate HR service delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR service delivery processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within Shared Service functions.
  • Develop a people analytics strategy that captures critical employee data from HR systems, including performance, pay, attrition, engagement, diversity, training, recruiting, and skills.
  • Ensure high-quality and timely administration of employee payroll and benefits.
  • Lead complex global projects and support cross-functional programs, prioritizing against business objectives.
  • Develop and execute operational roadmaps to strengthen HR infrastructure.
  • Utilize data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about HR laws and regulations to ensure compliance with HR Service Center practices.
  • Manage relationships with HR service vendors and technology providers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Human Resources, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in compensation, benefits, and HR Operations, particularly in a fast-paced, innovative global organization.
  • Strong understanding of the interdependencies in program and systems design, as well as the legal and financial implications of global compensation elements.
  • Proven compensation leadership experience in a large, global organization.
  • Experience leading large-scale HR programs from design to deployment, with significant change management requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with prior experience managing teams.
  • Ability to engage with Board members and Executive Leaders in a publicly traded company.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Total Rewards and a proven track record in delivering compensation and benefit strategies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR legislation, employment law, principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Global HR operations experience in building processes that support new international regions.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS functionality.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR practices, policies, and compliance.
  • Creative, driven, and capable of leading others beyond their comfort zones.
  • Ability to cultivate effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders; consultative and collaborative style that influences without authority.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, creating a sense of urgency.
  • Flexible and willing to engage in both strategic and hands-on tasks.
Workplace Location
  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters.
  • Return to Work Designation: Three (3) days a week in-office, with the remainder of the week remote.
  • Travel: Up to 10% globally, as necessary.
