Job Title: Guest Services Representative-ALB

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Guest Services Representative to join our team at InTown Suites. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable stay.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Represent the hotel in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  2. Check guests in and out efficiently, handling all front office related functions with accuracy and attention to detail.
  3. Ensure reservations are taken correctly and courteously, providing excellent communication skills.
  4. Be proficient in computer operating systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  5. Available at all times to deal with guest issues in a professional manner, providing effective solutions.
  6. Notify the General Manager or equivalent immediately of any guest, employee, or cash concerns.
  7. Supervise property staff as needed, ensuring compliance with safety and security standards.
  8. Report to the Market Manager in the General Manager's absence, taking responsibility for bank deposits.
  9. Identify and follow up on life/safety issues and inspection issues, notifying the General Manager or equivalent immediately.
  10. Leave all desk and office areas in a clean and neat manner, ensuring the property is always clean and free of trash and debris.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret information found in various reports and internal hotel information.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in an efficient manner to interact with guests and staff.
  • Handle administrative duties as assigned, with sufficient mathematical skills to calculate room revenue and balance a cash bank.
  • General computer proficiency, with knowledge of Front Office and related department operations, service standards, and techniques.
  • Ability to compose and express thoughts clearly and concisely to ensure effective communication.
  • Ability and flexibility to work long hours on a regular basis and as business conditions demand.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities in stressful situations with time constraints, using time management skills to effectively complete tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous hospitality experience, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Mental and Physical Demands:

This position requires indoor work with hard and carpeted surfaces, standing for eight-hour shifts, and occasional sitting, climbing, or balancing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
