ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

Dreaming Out Loud is dedicated to fostering economic opportunities for marginalized communities in the DC metro area by establishing a healthy and equitable food system. Our mission involves rebuilding urban, community-focused food networks through social enterprise, enhancing access to nutritious food, improving community health, developing low-income entrepreneurs and cooperatives, and training at-risk adults for sustainable, family-supporting careers.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The D.R.E.A.M. Entrepreneurship Program offers a comprehensive curriculum and extensive support to low-income and socially disadvantaged food entrepreneurs. The Food Production Operations Manager will collaborate with the Food Hub Director and senior leaders to cultivate and expand the support ecosystem that provides program graduates (DREAMERS) with essential human, financial, and social capital to create economic opportunities for themselves and their communities.

CULINARY PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The DREAM Culinary Program serves as an extension of the D.R.E.A.M. Entrepreneurship Program, focusing on identifying, refining, and connecting culinary talent from the program to income-generating opportunities. We continuously evaluate community partners for culinary opportunities in catering, pop-ups, corporate events, and community outreach, ensuring diverse income streams for our DREAMERS.

The program also plays a vital role in supporting the creation of value-added products for distribution through our Food Hub and other retail and wholesale markets, encompassing product development, scaling, production, manufacturing, testing, and packaging.

  • Commitment to advancing marginalized communities.
  • Passion for fresh produce and a strong understanding of seasonality.
