About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Manager to join our team at Giant Food. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for leading our pharmacy operations and ensuring that we provide exceptional patient care and service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain efficient pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Supervise and train pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Program Team to coordinate and execute off-site immunization clinics, health and wellness activities, and community outreach programs.
  • Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper adjudication of insurance claims and adherence to contract guidelines.
  • Assist medical providers and patients with prior authorizations and follow through on third-party audits.
  • Order and maintain pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Promote customer engagement through counseling and over-the-counter (OTC) recommendations, and offer Giant pharmacy services.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, and maintain pharmacy standards in accordance with company policy.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy.
  • Previous experience/background in retail pharmacy.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel to other stores.
  • Must have valid CPR license or basic life support certificate.
  • Must have immunization certifications in accordance with state regulations.
  • Strong inventory control understanding and capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
  • Comprehensive and demonstrated diversity equity & inclusion knowledge and understanding.
  • Ability to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job.
  • Must meet the company performance standards for the job.
  • Must participate in company orientation and training.
