Position Summary – Bill Jacobs Volkswagen Automotive Parts Specialist

We are thrilled to welcome a skilled Automotive Parts Specialist to our dynamic team. The perfect candidate will be a tech-savvy professional with exceptional organizational and communication abilities, coupled with a strong work ethic. Automotive Parts Specialists support our clientele (both internal and external) with all their parts requirements while fostering a positive overall experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Automotive Parts Specialist will deliver precise, prompt, and courteous service to technicians, retail, and wholesale clients.
  • Catalog and price parts on repair orders and/or counter tickets.
  • Retrieve parts from designated shelves and specific locations within the parts department.
  • Prepare purchase orders for parts as necessary from external suppliers and secure management approval.
  • Accurately log lost sales and sales into the inventory management system.
  • Maintain records of all special-order parts and inform the authorized personnel upon receipt.
  • Keep the special-order parts inventory organized and tidy.
  • Ensure technicians return all defective parts required for warranty processing and label them correctly.
  • Engage in conducting ongoing inventory checks.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Understanding of automotive repairs, processes, and the utilization of parts catalogs.
  • Proficiency in computer systems.
  • Ability to identify, understand, and respond to evolving customer needs.
  • Capability to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in varying conditions, including temperature fluctuations, noise, and fumes.
  • Availability to work on Saturdays and some holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as an automotive parts advisor or in a parts counter role is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with CDK systems is a plus.
