Position Summary:

  • The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and executing the duties of custodial staff, including day porters and floor technicians, and is proficient in operating various industrial cleaning equipment.
  • This role includes leading small teams in cleaning operations across different shifts as required.
  • In the absence of the Account Manager, the Supervisor will take charge of managing and supervising the environmental services staff at a designated location, adhering to established policies and regulations.
  • Assists in training, quality assurance, and ongoing education of staff members.
  • Utilizes appropriate protective equipment during all relevant tasks.
  • The Supervisor is expected to maintain a professional demeanor and ensure that their team members do the same.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in Environmental Services within a school or healthcare setting, along with personnel management experience, is desirable.
  • Basic computer proficiency is preferred.
  • Must be able to comprehend and complete all required training sessions.
  • Timeliness in attendance is essential.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions effectively.
  • Understanding and implementation of basic infection control procedures is necessary.
  • Capability to safely handle and mix cleaning chemicals.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Services, laundry, and floor care program standards.
  • Familiarity with and ability to operate all departmental equipment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and complete necessary reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including teaching abilities.
  • Skills in public relations techniques to positively promote the Environmental Services and floor care programs.
  • Ability to interact constructively with residents, clients, and other staff members.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies as mandated by relevant authorities.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in proximity to food and cleaning agents.
  • Must reside within the service area.
