Job Summary

CorVel Corporation is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse Medical Case Manager II to join our team. As a Medical Case Manager, you will play a critical role in facilitating the recovery of injured workers and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical case management services to individuals through in-person and telephonic communications with patients, physicians, healthcare providers, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Utilize your medical and nursing expertise to discuss treatment plans with physicians and explore alternative treatment options.
  • Evaluate patient treatment plans for appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient progress.
  • Attend medical appointments, hospital visits, and other healthcare-related events to ensure effective care coordination.
  • Implement care strategies, including negotiating the delivery of durable medical equipment and nursing services.
  • Travel regularly to meet with patients, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders, with occasional overnight travel required.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN licensure in the state of operation.
  • Certification as a CCM, CIRS, or other case management certifications preferred.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to assigned locations required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a RN, Medical Case Manager, or clinical background in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation.
  • Effective communication and multi-tasking skills in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office, including Excel spreadsheets.
