Job DescriptionEconSys is a leading provider of HR solutions to the Federal government, with over 30 years of experience and a growing customer base of over 100 agencies. We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team and help drive business growth through identifying new opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and implementing strategic initiatives.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets or expand in existing ones, leveraging expertise in Federal Contracting and HRIS.
  • Oversee staff when supporting large proposal efforts, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality deliverables.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and pitches to potential clients or partners, showcasing EconSys' expertise and value proposition.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements that are favorable to the company, utilizing strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analyze customer feedback and data to refine business development strategies, identifying areas for growth and improvement.
  • Provide feedback from the market to help shape product offerings or marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends.
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities, including pipeline management, deal tracking, and progress reporting.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on business development efforts, performance against targets, and strategic insights.
  • Anticipate market needs with a deep understanding of customer requirements, staying ahead of the competition and identifying new opportunities.
  • Perform independently and have an in-depth understanding of potential customer needs, making informed decisions and taking calculated risks.
  • Provide live demos of the software product independently, outlining the basic functionality of the system and showcasing its value proposition.
  • Forecasts and tracks key account metrics, ensuring alignment with business objectives and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Explore new markets, products, or services that align with the company's goals, staying ahead of the competition and identifying new opportunities.
  • Attend industry events, networking, and managing opportunities, and meetings to expand the company's reach and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Work with senior management to align business development goals with the company's overall strategy, ensuring alignment and cohesion across departments.
  • Provide solutions to promote sales growth and market leadership, staying ahead of the competition and identifying new opportunities.
  • Meets or exceeds sales targets by closing new business deals and expanding existing client relationships, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and grow opportunities within the industry, staying ahead of the competition and identifying new opportunities.
  • Work closely across departments to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives, ensuring alignment and cohesion across departments.
  • Collaborate with the team to convert leads into long-term clients, ensuring alignment with business objectives and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Researches market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify potential areas for growth, staying ahead of the competition and identifying new opportunities.
  • Establishes and nurtures relationships with key decision-makers, clients, partners, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives and identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Business development experience in the Federal space required, with an emphasis in Federal HR and HRIS.
  • Familiarity with Federal HRIS landscape preferred.
  • Ability to seamlessly connect with others and build lasting business relationships.
  • Experience selling services and complex custom technology products and solutions in the Federal market.
  • Ability to schedule and perform demonstrations as needed.
  • Exhibit a high level of independence and strategic decision-making and planning.
  • Must have strong communication and negotiation skills, ability to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders and negotiate favorable deals.
  • Ability to think critically and develop long-term strategies for business growth.
  • A deep understanding of sales processes and techniques.
  • Strong network and networking skills to build and maintain relationships.
  • An understanding of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and find innovative solutions to business challenges.
  • Capability to analyze data and market trends to make informed decisions.
  • Understanding of products, services, and the market to craft compelling proposals.
Education/Certification Requirements:

Experience in sales, marketing, and/or business development, in the Federal Contracting space required with a primary focus on Federal HR.
