About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our team at Backstage Library Works. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with academic libraries in the Central US region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Manage the sales cycle from initial contact to contract signing
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through networking and prospecting
  • Present product solutions to prospective clients and communicate with the product team to solidify project needs
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Respond to Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal with persuasive product solutions and pricing
  • Identify and champion project initiatives across company groups
  • Communicate regularly with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions
  • Represent Backstage Library Works at industry conferences and events
  • Negotiate agreements and maintain accurate sales records in Salesforce
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the library industry
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of market research, sales, and negotiating principles
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce)
  • MLIS, BSc, or BA in business administration, sales, or marketing
What We Offer
  • Competitive base salary: $47,840 to $65,312, depending on experience
  • Commission: $11,000 at target + special incentives (SPIFs)
  • Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and annual profit sharing
