Position Overview

Mackay Sposito is currently seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Stormwater Management Field Technician. This position is perfect for those who appreciate outdoor work and thrive in a collaborative environment. This is a seasonal, physically demanding role that plays a crucial part in the oversight of invasive and noxious weed management within stormwater systems, as well as various stormwater-related tasks, mowing, tree maintenance, and other manual labor duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine upkeep tasks, including the removal of debris from stormwater drains and culverts, and maintaining mowing facilities.
  • Conduct regular assessments of stormwater facilities, identifying potential concerns and documenting observations.
  • Ensure stormwater systems comply with regulatory standards and environmental guidelines.
  • Carry out repairs on stormwater infrastructure, including pipe work, erosion control measures, and sediment removal.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Prepare and submit reports detailing the condition of stormwater systems, highlighting any issues or suggested enhancements.
  • Stay updated on local, state, and federal stormwater regulations to ensure all maintenance tasks meet compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to operate vehicles with trailers.
  • Experience in the safe use of power tools, including lawn mowers and brush cutters.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to receive confined space training and work in confined areas using appropriate safety equipment.
  • Adherence to strict safety protocols is essential for maintaining a secure work environment.
