Exciting Leadership Opportunity at MSK: As the leading Psycho-Oncology Psychiatrist, you will be an integral part of our senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing a comprehensive array of psychiatric services tailored for cancer patients. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure the effective management and continuous enhancement of psycho-oncology services.

You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our psycho-oncology program by designing, developing, and optimizing services that align with MSK's mission and strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with key stakeholders to identify and address gaps in patient care, ensuring that our services are scalable and efficient, ultimately enhancing patient experience and overall organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Leadership

Formulate and execute strategic and operational plans to optimize psycho-oncology services in alignment with MSK's mission and priorities. Inspire innovation, cultivate a culture of excellence, and promote continuous improvement within the psycho-oncology teams.

Operational Management

Supervise the daily operations of psycho-oncology services. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, safety protocols, and best practices. Develop and track key performance indicators to evaluate service effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities. Engage with the community to represent MSK's mission and values.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with clinical and administrative leaders to understand their needs and develop solutions to enhance psycho-oncology services. Foster strong relationships with staff, patients, families, and regulatory bodies. Ensure timely and effective resolution of issues to provide an exceptional stakeholder experience.

Team Development and Talent Management

Lead and mentor a diverse team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development. Recruit, train, and retain top talent, equipping them with the necessary skills and resources for success. Plan and evaluate orientation, training, and continuing education initiatives.

Financial Management

Develop and oversee departmental budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability. Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement while maintaining high-quality service delivery. Exercise sound financial stewardship, benchmarking against industry best practices.

Quality Improvement and Patient Experience

Drive initiatives to enhance service quality, patient satisfaction, and overall patient experience. Cultivate patient-focused teams that deliver exceptional care. Implement quality improvement methodologies to measure, analyze, and enhance service processes and outcomes.

Key Qualifications:

10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment; experience in an academic medical center is preferred. Extensive experience managing psycho-oncology or similar psychiatric services. Proven ability to manage departmental budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Innovation: Passion for psycho-oncology, including planning and developing sustainable processes and efficient workflows.

Additional Information:

This role requires flexibility to work across various MSK locations.

Pay Range: $238,300 - $405,100
