About Women In Need, Inc.
Women In Need, Inc. is committed to disrupting the cycle of homelessness by offering transitional and supportive housing for families led by women. Many of these families have fled domestic violence and are determined to keep their loved ones safe and together.
Our Income Building Program aids clients in transitioning from unemployment to gainful employment, as well as assisting those already employed in enhancing their situations.
This includes raising wages, shifting from part-time to full-time positions, securing health benefits, and moving from informal to formal employment.
Additionally, we provide financial literacy workshops to equip our clients with essential skills such as budgeting, bill management, and fundamental financial oversight.
Women In Need, Inc. operates with an annual budget of approximately $150 million, which includes $14 million raised through private and corporate contributions, supporting various programs and services, including the Income Building Program and Camp Win.
Opportunity Overview
Are you an innovative and entrepreneurial fundraising expert passionate about making a positive impact? As the Chief Events Strategist at Women In Need, Inc., you will spearhead and coordinate revenue-generating events that are crucial to our mission.
Reporting directly to the Vice President, you will be the key driver behind event planning and execution, ensuring that each event not only meets but surpasses annual objectives.
Your exceptional relationship-building abilities will be essential in managing high-profile fundraising events and securing critical funding for Women In Need, Inc.Key Responsibilities
Event Coordination
Oversee event logistics including signage, registration, volunteer management, staffing, and talent coordination.
Envision and implement unforgettable events for Women In Need, Inc.:
Coordinate vendor schedules and manage venue agreements, design save-the-date invitations, create media loops, handle printing and mailing, and collaborate with caterers, photographers, videographers, and consultants for each event.
Develop and manage the run of show and production for major fundraising events.Financial Oversight
Establish and manage a comprehensive plan for major fundraising events.
Oversee budget expenditures, participant acquisition, cultivation, and retention, solicit corporate sponsorships, conduct pre- and post-event follow-ups, recruit committee members, manage event committees, and maintain timelines for all design materials.
Coordinate vendor schedules and manage venue agreements, design save-the-date invitations, create media loops, handle printing and mailing, and collaborate with caterers, photographers, videographers, and consultants for each event.
Develop and manage the run of show and production for major fundraising events.Donor Engagement and Fundraising
Monitor and manage ticket sales and sponsorships, draft correspondence and solicitation materials, and execute sponsorship benefit elements.
Assist the Vice President of Stakeholder Engagement in nurturing and maintaining strong relationships with Women In Need, Inc. board members, event chairs, committees, and honorees.
Act as the primary relationship manager for Women In Need, Inc. Partners and the Impact Party.Collaborate with key stakeholders, including board members and senior staff, to achieve budgetary goals with a strong emphasis on return on investment (ROI).
Partner with the communications team to conceptualize and implement effective marketing strategies and campaigns that promote Women In Need, Inc. events.Research and present potential new donor prospects and key industry stakeholders to the Vice President of Stakeholder Engagement and the Senior Vice President of Development.
AnalyticsMaintain a database for all event donors and contributions.
Implement an event evaluation process to highlight ROI analysis and ensure ongoing improvement.
Maintain a flexible work schedule that may include evenings and weekend events as required.
Other related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Must be able to sit at a computer for the majority of the workday.
Must utilize public transportation to travel to Women In Need, Inc. sites and other related meetings and events.
Qualifications:
Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Women In Need, Inc.
Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of experience in event management, specifically executing high-profile fundraising events.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
Knowledge of graphic design, photography, video editing, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is a plus.
