Position Overview:


The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences boasts a robust team of over 45 full-time faculty members with diverse interests in psycho-oncology clinical practice, education, and research.

The selected candidate will provide psychiatric services at MSK's locations, offering outpatient care through a combination of in-person and telehealth modalities.

Additionally, the role includes consultation-liaison psychiatric services for cancer patients at our primary facility. The position will involve working with patients across various cancer diagnoses and stages.

This full-time role offers a unique blend of patient care, educational responsibilities, fellowship training, collaborative research, and program development.

Responsibilities include:
- Up to 3.5 to 4 days of outpatient clinic work, depending on inpatient coverage.
- Regularly scheduled weeks for providing consultation-liaison inpatient services at MSK's Main Campus, up to 8 weeks annually.
- Weekday and weekend on-call responsibilities, approximately 30 days of call each year, including up to five weekends.
- Opportunities for educational activities with fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Inpatient and outpatient clinical supervision of fellows.

Candidate Qualifications:
Applicants must possess clinical experience and appropriate training in managing adult cancer patients and their families. Board certification or eligibility in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry is preferred. This search is open to candidates with an M.D.

or D.O., across all career stages, with appointments made at an academic level commensurate with the candidate's experience.

Applicants must hold a full and unrestricted license to practice Psychiatry in New York State (or be licensed in another jurisdiction and eligible for licensure in New York and New Jersey).

Candidates must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Osteopathy (DO), or equivalent.
Board certification in Psychiatry is required, with board certification or eligibility in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry preferred.
Eligible for appointment at an academic rank ranging from Instructor to Professor.
Candidates must demonstrate clinical experience and appropriate training in working with adult cancer patients and their families.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence are essential.
Strong communication skills and a passion for education are required.
The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment is crucial.
