Consultation Liaison Psychiatrist

Position Overview
The Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join the Consultation/Liaison Unit. This role is based within the NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County system, which provides a comprehensive range of mental health services. Our Behavioral Health Center is dedicated to addressing various mental health needs, including programs for First Episode Psychosis, opioid treatment, and specialized care for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to psychiatric consultation requests from healthcare providers for both adult and pediatric patients.
- Offer expert recommendations for psychiatric care and assist in patient disposition.
- Supervise and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students participating in the Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison service.
- Collaborate with Behavioral Health leadership to enhance inter-departmental cooperation.
- Participate in team meetings and adhere to established psychiatry consultation protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Service.
Qualifications
- Board eligibility or certification in Psychiatry is required.
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical institution.
- Completion of residency training in an accredited Psychiatry program.
- Valid medical license to practice in New York State.
