Position Summary
The Senior Vice President of Credit Operations plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives. This position serves as a vital resource for financial insights and industry expertise, collaborating directly with clients to develop tailored financing solutions for intricate policies and competitive scenarios. Responsibilities include organizing educational sessions for staff on financial concepts, insurance, and premium financing, as well as engaging with the sales and executive teams to enhance business processes and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulating and overseeing underwriting policies that balance risk and profitability.
- Monitoring industry trends and adapting strategies to align with market dynamics.
- Providing evaluations on loan proposals, including approval rates and terms.
- Coordinating workflow with the inside sales team to streamline operations.
- Advising on rates and terms for loans exceeding standard quoting authority to optimize efficiency.
- Supporting sales staff with complex financial inquiries and technical challenges.
- Engaging in collaborative discussions to enhance the sales process.
- Leading and mentoring the credit team, promoting a culture of ongoing education and professional growth.
- Enhancing credit understanding within the broader organization.
- Identifying and recommending improvements in departmental efficiencies through collaboration.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of leadership experience in credit management within financial services.
- Preferred active insurance license or advanced knowledge of insurance terminology.
- Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or accounting, or equivalent experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for industry events and meetings.
- Availability for in-office work at least three days per week.
