Job Summary:
The Senior Vice President of Credit Operations is responsible for assisting with creating and implementing strategic plans to drive business growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer underwriting guidelines that balance risk and profit strategies.
- Monitor market conditions and adjust strategies accordingly to ensure optimal business outcomes.
- Provide approval rates, terms, and exposures on loan proposals to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Coordinate and manage business flow with the inside sales department to ensure seamless execution.
- Recommend rates, terms, and exposure on quotes for loans above set quoting authority to reduce time spent by senior executives and improve profit and risk mitigation.
- Assist Inside Sales staff with complex math, financial statement, and knowledge questions, as well as technical and insurance knowledge.
- Participate in team discussions and understand the inside sales process to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
- Manage and develop the credit team to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Evaluate efficiencies within the department to identify and recommend areas for improvement in close collaboration with other departments.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in a leadership position within the credit department of a financial institution or finance company.
- Active Insurance License preferred or advanced knowledge of insurance policy language and terms.
- Undergraduate degree in economics, finance, or accounting.
