Leasing and Compliance Assistant

Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Leasing and Compliance, the Leasing and Compliance Assistant plays a crucial role in providing administrative and operational support to the Leasing and Compliance Department. This position is vital in achieving the organization's mission of ensuring secure and permanent housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address housing inquiries promptly and monitor application requests.
  • Generate mail merges and track responses effectively.
  • Support the Occupancy team in scheduling interviews.
  • Collect and maintain third-party income and asset verification documentation.
  • Communicate housing decisions to applicants through various channels.
  • Digitally organize documents and keep files updated as required.
  • Assist with the annual Rent Registration process.
  • Manage extensive data related to contract rent increases, legal rents, rent rolls, and compliance deadlines.
  • Prepare reports for city, state, and federal agencies in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Input data into the property management database.
  • Support the leasing process for new developments.
  • Occasionally take minutes during meetings.
  • Travel between offices and various sites as necessary.
  • Participate in training sessions and conferences to enhance professional skills.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and office management skills.
  • Capability to independently solve problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and online research.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors and colleagues across the organization.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Experience in project management, affordable housing programs, income certification, and compliance is preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma is preferred.
