Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to deliver comprehensive psychological services to youth and their families. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including assessments, evaluations, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention. The clinician will also provide consultation to staff and judicial entities, assisting in decision-making processes regarding youth and family dynamics.


Management Responsibilities:
Supervision of interns is included in this role.
Detailed Responsibilities:

Conduct individual, group, and family therapy for youth under the supervision of the juvenile department. Complete psychological assessments, including psychological screens, family assessments, and sex offender evaluations as necessary. All assessments should be submitted for review within 24 to 48 hours of completion.

Participate in collaborative meetings with psychology staff to enhance the provision of clinical services to youth and families. Provide on-call emergency services as scheduled, ensuring on-site stabilization for youth experiencing mental health crises.

Act as a consultant to various stakeholders including administration, probation officers, court personnel, and educational professionals. Serve on the Case Planning and Review Committee (CPRC), offering clinical insights to aid in the development of recommendations for youth.

Provide courtroom testimony when requested by judicial officers.

Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to maintain licensure and professional relevance.

Complete the requirements for independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) within three years of employment.

Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Director or designated supervisors within the Psychology Division.


Additional Responsibilities for Clinician II:

Take on a leadership role within a sub-unit of the psychology division, managing various tasks assigned by the Clinical Director or supervisors. Responsibilities may include program development, data maintenance regarding unit operations, and representation of the sub-unit in communications with other department staff.

Attend and contribute to meetings aimed at improving clinical services for juvenile department youth and families.


Qualifications:

Education: A Master's degree from an accredited institution in Psychology or a related field is required.

Experience: For Clinician I, a minimum of one year of supervised experience in providing psychological services is necessary. For Clinician II, at least three years of post-graduate supervised clinical experience and independent licensure in Texas is required.

Special Skills: Knowledge of standard software applications, effective communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships are essential. A valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record is mandatory.

Compliance: Candidates must pass a thorough background investigation and drug testing prior to employment, with ongoing random testing during employment.


Work Environment:

This position may require working in a standard office environment as well as visiting various off-site locations. The role may involve mandatory overtime and being on-call as needed.
