This position involves managing the intake process, responding to inquiries from families and legal representatives, and ensuring a secure environment for all individuals involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the intake of youths, including gathering necessary information such as charges and personal details.
- Oversee the collection and safeguarding of personal belongings during the intake process.
- Administer medical screenings and ensure that youths receive appropriate care and nutrition.
- Supervise visitation and provide guidance on visitation protocols to families and legal representatives.
- Maintain security and prevent contraband through thorough searches and monitoring.
- Support staff during detention hearings and provide necessary assistance to ensure smooth proceedings.
- Act as a backup for various roles, including administering medications and transporting youths as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience or completion of 45 credit hours in a related field.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in standard software applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
- Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of employment.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug testing.
Work Environment
- Position operates within a secured facility, requiring a high tolerance for emotionally demanding situations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including potential overtime and emergency call-backs.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and meet all training and certification requirements.
