Position Overview:


Coding Education Program:
Lead and oversee the Coding Education Program by performing targeted audits, assessing coder precision, and executing educational initiatives.


Educational Delivery:
Design and present coding education for designated teams, addressing inquiries regarding coding and documentation standards while enhancing the accuracy and quality of patient information.


Compliance Support:
Act as a coding consultant for departmental leaders, healthcare providers, and administrative staff, offering insights on ethical coding practices and regulatory obligations.


Quality Assurance:
Monitor and ensure coding quality for assigned foundations, formulate strategies to tackle non-compliant or high-risk coding behaviors, and collaborate with management to execute corrective measures and educational programs aimed at minimizing edits and denials.


Required Skills:


Coding Expertise:
Demonstrated experience in CPT and E&M Auditing. Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding, and relevant billing edits such as NCCI.


Certifications:
AHIMA or AAPC coding certification (CCS-P, CPC, COC, CPC-P) is mandatory. CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) is preferred.


Technical Proficiency:
Skilled in Epic Resolute and Ambulatory, PowerPoint, Excel (including pivot tables and charts), and familiar with coding auditing tools such as MD Audit and encoding software like Ingenix Encoder Pro and 3M.


Regulatory Knowledge:
Ability to review, analyze, and interpret billing guidelines and state and federal regulations. Willingness to travel to provide educational support.
